Some of my very favourite vintage maps that have inspired my work, now available as prints.
 
I really love to share where my inspiration as come from, and I think if you look at my maps, you can see the thread of vintage aesthetic that runs through them. I just love the crazy detail on this vintage map of the Moluccas Islands, Indonesia: the fruits and plants at the bottom, the giant fish, the beautiful compass rose, the 3d title block. It inspires almost every map I make. 
 
This old map of the Maluku (or Moluccas) Islands can be purchased in three different sizes:

Printed on premium textured poster paper at 200gsm.
 
Please note that this is a copy of the original file scanned by the British Museum. I have not made any changes to it at all to preserve the historical accuracy. As such, it will look like a very old map, with darker spots and less sharp writing.
